Choosing Thermoforming Packaging
Thermoforming is a method used for making plastic packaging. Also called clamshell packaging, thermoforming uses plastic stretched over a mold to create specifically shaped packages. The packages use inserts of paper or cardboard to provide a label that can be read from the outside. The package is sealed once the product is inserted and then it cannot be opened until the consumer takes the product home and cuts the package apart. This type of packaging allows the consumer to see what they are buying before they make the purchase. The parts and instructions are kept safely inside. Retailers like this type of packaging because it is easy to set up on hooks and takes up less space than other types of packages. It also deters shoplifting of the products. It is also easy to safely ship this type of package; the items inside are protected from breakage and moisture.
