Clamshell Packaging

So often retailers and manufacturers want to conduct promotional periods or sell promotional items, but are limited in the methods of creatively packaging goods outside of their traditional methods. This is usually where clamshell packaging comes in.

Clamshell packaging is completely customizable – if a manufacturer needs a specific shape, or one molded around an unusual object, clamshell packaging is truly their only option, because it is the only process able to meet such flexible demands.

Consider the numerous “bath sets” sold as complete gifts during the holiday seasons. These frequently include a few luxury bath oils, a lovely scrub brush, and a candle or special soap. Traditionally these sets are packaged in a single clear container that allows for easy viewing, and which holds the items in place. This type of packaging is clamshell packaging.

Now imagine the same bath set in a rectangular cardboard box. Then you could understand why creative clamshell packaging is so valuable for selling products.
