Effective Marketing with Clamshell Packaging
It is probably safe to say that most people are aware of the affects of “image” on the sale of an item. For example, some brands have a reputation for quality, or a certain level of “chic” and their overall image is one that is recognizable simply by their logo or packaging.
One industry where this trend towards “cleaner” methods of packaging items is increasing is cosmetics. In the cosmetics industry everything from eyebrow pencils to exclusive wrinkle creams utilize the clear, protective and simple clamshell packaging.
Consumers in luxury department stores or local pharmacies are presented with a small container seemingly floating in the clear casing and printed with minimal text. This gives an overall impression of simplicity and modernity, which is so favorable that most of the industry has responded and now uses clamshell packaging.
Additionally, the construction of clamshell packaging allows delicate items such as glass containers of face cream or small bottles of perfume to be shipped and transported to their final destinations without concerns of damage or breaking.
