Using Thermoformed Packaging
Thermoformed packaging is a process used for making plastic packages to accommodate any size or shaped product. Thermoformed packaging uses a special heat process that stretches plastic over a prepared mold. The result is a perfectly shaped package for the item. You are probably familiar with this type of packaging. It is clear plastic that is used for all types of products including light bulbs, cell phones and small electronics. The clear plastic allows customers to see the product before buying, simultaneously eliminating the ability to remove the item until it is paid for. This type of packaging is also known as clamshell packaging and is the most common type of packaging currently used in retail. It is easy to distribute items in packaging and retailers find it easy to put on shelves or hooks. The packaging is airtight to ensure the integrity of the products.
